Te Pou Matakana - a new organisation born from the National Urban Māori Authority (NUMA) has been selected to establish the Whānau Ora Commissioning Agency for Te Ika a Māui (North Island) announced Minister for Whānau Ora, Tariana Turia today.

Minister of Whānau Ora Tariana Turia said today that a decision on the commissioning agencies for Whānau Ora will be announced in the new year. The Kaitiaki Survey is a first step in establishing baseline information about how iwi and hapū are involved in natural resource management, including Resource Management Act processes. Notification of Mandate Strategy for Treaty Settlement Negotiations: Ngāti Mutunga o Wharekauri
In October 2013, the Ngāti Mutunga o Wharekauri Iwi Trust submitted a mandate strategy to the Crown proposing a mandate process to gain a Crown-recognised mandate to represent Ngāti Mutunga o Wharekauri in negotiations for the comprehensive settlement of their historical Treaty of Waitangi claims. Te Puni Kōkiri now invites submissions on the submitted mandate strategy.
