Te Puni Kōkiri is seeking to fill its fixed term Senior Advisor (Provincial Growth Fund) in our Te Tai Hauāuru Regional Office.

This position is a full-time fixed-term, to start immediately through to 1 July 2020.
The Senior Advisor Provincial Growth Programme role:
- Works as part of ‘team government’ with the Provincial Development Unit and partner agencies
- May lead identified key projects and relationships
- Leads work with agencies, organisations and providers to assist them to improve their outcomes for Māori
- Acts as an effective conduit for Provincial Growth Fund related information both into and out of Māori communities to support Māori initiatives
- Manages and analyses information at a local level on Māori views, aspirations and experiences, to contribute to Te Puni Kōkiri policy and investment thinking, and review of Provincial Growth Fund projects
- Assists whānau, hapū, iwi, Māori organisations and communities to develop and implement initiatives that will enable them to achieve long-term economic and social development
- Manages local level contractual arrangements and is a leader in the relationships held with stakeholders
- Informs investment decisions in partnership with the Investment Team and policy colleagues
- Supports Ministerial engagement in the region as required.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience in working with whānau, hapū, iwi, Māori organisation’s and Māori communities;
- Understanding and knowledge about government and public sector processes including how and why government can work together with regional communities;
- Worked with communities and government agencies;
- Understanding of the relevance of the Treaty of Waitangi to the work being undertaken;
- Excellent communication skills including a conversational level of te reo Maori
- A clean and current driver’s license.
- Maintaining, updating and reporting against the Regional CRM to ensure data and insights are captured and maintained
- When required providing additional information for the reporting to Minister’s report, annual report and other organisational requirements.
- Compiles all information and insights gathered from all interactions with the Community Advisor and land owners providing this detail to the Regional Team
- Provides assessment and advice on next steps required to continue to support land owners to achieve their aspirations
- Facilitates workshops, hui and whānau engagements effectively
