We are looking to recruit to a number of new positions to join our team in Wellington, to help us lead the way in developing government operational policy and investment design in a whānau centered way.

The core purpose of Te Puni Kōkiri is to support Government to strengthen Treaty of Waitangi partnerships and facilitate iwi, hapū and whānau Māori to succeed at home and globally.
Te Puni Kōkiri oversee more than $300 million in initiatives to support Māori development outcomes. The Investment Te Puni is responsible for ensuring that Te Puni Kōkiri is strategic, agile, active in making things happen, accountable and can articulate the results for investment decisions for these initiatives.
The National Office based Investment Puni is seeking to appoint individuals to join our Māori Growth team.
Purpose of the Roles
The Advisor and Senior Advisor roles will contribute to the delivery of outcomes with a strong focus on building relationships and working as part of a team to deliver on the portfolio of investment by working at appropriate level to:
- Leading and supporting the preparation of Ministerial briefings and advice in relation to the Māori Growth funds
- Preparing and contribute to responses to Ministerials, OIAs, and PQs and other information requests
- Co-ordinate the input of the operational perspective of the Māori Growth funding streams
- Represent Māori Growth in meetings with other whanau, hapū iwi as well as agencies and organisations
- Managing projects to support the operations of the Māori Growth team
- Contributing to the evaluation of investment initiatives and whether they are delivering the intended outcomes
- Providing accurate and timely data about Māori Growth funds to other puni for organisational planning and reporting purposes
Key to success will be the applicant’s ability to:
- Demonstrate proven experience working with whanau, hapū and iwi
- Understand Te Ao Māori
- Have established, or ability to establish, community networks (Senior)
- Build and maintain external relationships
- Understanding of government and the public service
- Provide timely and accurate reporting on the current status of projects and identify risks
- Champion effective use of planning and project management disciplines to support their work
- Provide a high standard of written and verbal communication
- Use Strong critical reasoning
- Establish and maintain strong relationships management and values diverse experience
- Agility to adapt to change
