This week is Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori - Māori Language Week 2010. The theme this year is ‘Te Mahi Kai – Te Language of Food’ and is promoted because the culture and traditions associated with kai (gathering, preparing and partaking) are centred on whānau and community, which are key domains for Māori language revitalisation.
This is a time to celebrate te reo Māori through a variety of fun activities.
