2010 Ngārimu VC and 28th (Māori) Battalion Memorial Scholarship Fund Essay Competition

It’s that time of year again for Māori students to take up the challenge to use their innovative, creative and vibrant talent to produce high-quality, well-developed, insightful and informative essays. The 2010 Ngārimu VC and 28th (Māori) Battalion Memorial Scholarship Fund Essay Competition is now open to all Year 7 to 13 Māori students. This is an opportunity for students to showcase their flair for, and increase their fluency in, written Māori and English.

Teachers, schools, parents and whānau: encourage and support your Māori students, learners, child and whanaunga to create an essay that is articulate, expressive, stimulating and explorative.

Prizes of up to $1000 are offered for winning entries and schools that support their students are also eligible to receive prizes. A full list of essay topics, guidelines and prize values can be viewed and downloaded on the Ministry's website: www.minedu.govt.nz/ngarimuessaycompetition All entries should be received by the Ministry by 5pm 24 September 2010.
