The Tamaiti Whāngai school holiday programme supported by Te Puni Kōkiri is now being delivered at three sites within Lower Hutt – Wainuiomata, Naenae and Pomare.

The aim of the programme is to provide care and structured activities for tamariki led by a site co-ordinator and assisted by youth leaders from within the community. Local sports-people have visited sites and participated with children, including Tana Umaga, Piri Weepu and Norm Hewitt.
