The Treaty Settlement Secondment Programme (also the iwi secondment programme) commenced in late 2009 to allow for the secondment of public servants to work with iwi and contribute to the Government aim of settling all historic Treaty claims by 2014.

The Treaty Settlement Secondment Programme (also the iwi secondment programme) commenced in late 2009 to allow for the secondment of public servants to work with iwi and contribute to the Government aim of settling all historic Treaty claims by 2014.

The three main parties to secondment agreements arranged through the programme are employees, the iwi organisation they seek to be seconded to, and their employing home department or ministry.
