This suite of publications introduces the Effectiveness for Māori Framework, including an explanatory resource, and case study. These publications build on findings from Te Puni Kōkiri’s literature review Measuring Performance and Effectiveness for Māori: Key themes from the literature.
A resource for State Sector Agencies and its A3 sized diagram, is about measuring and reporting on results for Māori, and on the effectiveness of the activities that contribute to them.
Case Study examines Careers New Zealand’s Whānau Decision-Making Project, and provides an example of some of the principles of the Effectiveness for Māori Framework in action.

Te Puni Kōkiri released the latest additions to its Effectiveness for Māori publication suite (above) at a launch. The launch included special guest speaker Professor Patria de Lancer Julnes, of the School of Public and International Affairs, University of Baltimore, Maryland (USA). She is a world expert in public management performance measurement, accountability, citizen-drive governance and government capability. She spoke about integrating community indicators into performance measurement systems. Deputy Chief Executive Trevor Moeke welcomed around 40 guests to the event. In introducing the publication suite and the special guest speaker, Mr Moeke talked briefly about why Te Puni Kōkiri believes such resources are an important contribution to improving state sector effectiveness.
