Te Mana o Ngāti Rangitihi Ratification Of Post-Settlement Governance Entity

Te Mana o Ngāti Rangitihi Trust seeks the agreement of its members to accept the proposed Post-Settlement Governance Entity (PSGE) to receive the Ngāti Rangitihi Settlement Redress once the Settlement is enacted.

VOTING ARRANGEMENTS:

All registered members of Ngāti Rangitihi (with known mailing addresses), who are 18 years and over, will be sent a ratification information pack by Saturday 8 June 2019. Votes can be submitted by post (in the freepost envelope enclosed in the ratification information pack), online at ngatirangitihi.iwi.nz, or by placing the voting form in the ballot box at any of the above hui.

The voting period commences on Saturday 8 June 2019 and closes on Monday 8 July 2019 at 5pm.

Adult Registered Members will be asked to vote on three resolutions:

  1. I, as a member of Ngāti Rangitihi, agree that the proposed new Te Mana o Ngāti Rangitihi Trust will be the Post-Settlement Governance Entity to receive and manage all of the historical Treaty of Waitangi settlement redress on behalf of Ngāti Rangitihi.
  2. I, as a member of Ngāti Rangitihi, authorise the transfer of the mandate to negotiate the settlement of the Ngāti Rangitihi historical Treaty of Waitangi claims from the existing Te Mana o Ngāti Rangitihi Trust to the new Te Mana o Ngāti Rangitihi Trust.
  3. I, as a member of Ngāti Rangitihi, agree that the initial trustees of the new Te Mana o Ngāti Rangitihi Trust will be the current trustees of the existing Te Mana o Ngāti Rangitihi Trust.
