Changes are coming to State redress

The Government is launching a new State redress service for survivors of abuse and neglect in State care.

The new service will provide a single point of contact for people seeking information about State redress and making new claims, even if abuse or neglect occurred in multiple State-run organisations.

The aim is to make the redress process easier to navigate. Survivors should only have to tell their story once and will have a clear point of contact throughout the process.

The new service will also change how government agencies work together, including how survivor information is collected, used, and shared to support a more joined‑up, survivor‑centred experience.
