Summary of oral and written submissions in response to proposed changes to the Māori Community Development Act 1962

Te Puni Kōkiri received feedback on options in its discussion paper through the 20 public consultation hui held throughout the country in September 2013 and through 86 unique written submissions and 1,193 form submissions. Te Puni Kōkiri has produced a summary report which outlines the key themes expressed through the consultation.

Whānau Ora Commissioning Agencies to be announced next year

Minister of Whānau Ora Tariana Turia said today that a decision on the commissioning agencies for Whānau Ora will be announced in the new year. Earlier this year the Minister announced the new model for the future delivery of Whānau Ora which will see the establishment of three Non-Government Organisation (NGOs) commissioning agencies, one based in the North Island, one in the South Island and a Pacific focused agency.

He Tiro Whānui e pā ana ki te Tiaki Taiao 2012: 2012 Kaitiaki Survey Report

The Te Puni Kōkiri Kaitiaki Survey was conducted between September and November 2012 with individuals and organisations that do environmental work and engage in Resource Management Act 1991 processes on behalf of iwi or hapū, or both. The Kaitiaki Survey is a first step in establishing baseline information about how iwi and hapū are involved in natural resource management, including Resource Management Act processes. This report summarises the Kaitiaki survey results. Published in 2013.
