Vacancy IN 032

Te Puni Kōkiri (Ministry of Māori Development) is a government agency who works within government and communities to achieve our vision of Thriving Whānau.

The wellbeing of whānau, hapū and iwi is central to the future wellbeing of Aotearoa (New Zealand). The very broad role of Te Puni Kōkiri, our access to information and ability to make connections, make us ideally placed to spark innovation.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Advisor to join our team in Wellington, to help us lead the way in developing government operational policy and investment design in a whānau centered way.

This is your opportunity to enhance the reputation of Te Puni Kōkiri with Māori, the state sector and government, by brining your te ao Māori perspective to your work and your ability to work comfortably in government, and with whānau, hapū and iwi.

The Operational Policy & Design team, within the Investment Puni, lead the design of new Te Puni Kōkiri–led initiatives and funds and support the continuous improvement of existing initiatives.

As part of this team you will be part of the bridge between policy development and implementation and provide services in:

  • Operational policy design
  • Process and system design
  • Guidance and support tools
  • Service design, including customer insights, customer experience design and service channels

As a Senior Advisor you will lead projects within the work programme that support the design and implementation of new initiatives and the continuous improvement of existing ones, as well as coaching other advisors to increase their overall capability.

If you are someone who can provide high level strategic and technical advice, thought leadership on complex issues and whānau centered approaches to operational policy and design, we want to hear from you.

To apply, please email your CV, Covering letter and a completed application form to vacancy@tpk.govt.nz.
