As Matariki sits high in the sky – welcoming in Te Tau Hou Māori – our new whare welcomes in Te Puni Kōkiri kaimahi based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara. We’ve officially moved Te Tari Matua | National Office to Te Iho | Bowen House.
On Wednesday 18 Pipiri 2025, Te Puni Kōkiri farewelled 143 Lambton Quay with a whakawātea – guided by mana whenua. We reflected on the past 27 years in Te Puni Kōkiri House with fond recollections of all the mahi and positive changes its walls have witnessed. Today, Monday 23 Pipiri 2025, a new chapter begins as we lay our foundations inside our new whare.
As we join other Ministries within Te Iho | Bowen House, we look forward to working more closely with our hoa mahi from across the public sector – a shift that aligns with our refreshed role to influence better outcomes for Māori.
We now look forward to this exciting step into Te Tau Hou Māori – a new whare, new beginning, yet same strong commitment to Māori development and success.
