Following recent media coverage of a petition relating to the Tino Rangatiratanga flag, Te Puni Kōkiri wishes to clarify the current arrangements for the delivery of Government-funded Whānau Ora services across Aotearoa New Zealand.

Since 1 July 2025, Whānau Ora commissioning services have been delivered through four agencies contracted and funded by Te Puni Kōkiri:
- Rangitāmiro - North Island, north of and including Taupō
- Māhutonga - North Island, south and east of Taupō
- Te Tauraki Limited - Te Waipounamu, Wharekauri/Rēkohu
- Tātou Collective - supporting Pacific peoples across Aotearoa New Zealand
The organisation referred to in recent media reports as the Whānau Ora Commissioning Agency (WOCA) previously held a Whānau Ora commissioning contract. That contract ended on 30 June 2025, and the organisation is not among the four agencies currently contracted by Te Puni Kōkiri to deliver Whānau Ora commissioning services.
The petition referred to in recent media coverage is not an initiative of Te Puni Kōkiri or the Government-funded Whānau Ora programme.
Whānau Ora continues to operate across Aotearoa New Zealand through the four contracted commissioning agencies and their networks of providers and navigators, supporting whānau and families to achieve their aspirations and improve their wellbeing.
Te Puni Kōkiri remains committed to supporting the delivery of Whānau Ora services and ensuring that whānau can access the support they need.
