  • Date: 5 PM – 5 PM
  • Location: Digital Basecamp, 1132 Hinemoa Street, Rotorua

A 48 Hour livestream animation hack focused in bringing together wāhine Māori to develop storylines and characters. LOCATION: Rotorua DATE: 12 - 14 May

This 48hr hack will follow the general rules of a 48 hour challenge, meaning everything - the story, script, animatics, voices, music and animations - will all be created over a 48 hour period.

Focus will be on bringing together our kotiro/wāhine Māori to develop our storylines and characters and work alongside Māori animators who together will creatively explore what superheroes mean to them, using digital media (animation 2D/3D), hip-hop, spoken word, and visual arts. Influential peers and mentors will provide technical support and inspiration.  Work from this project will be featured in the upcoming transmedia part-animated webseries, Fierce Girls, funded through NZ on Air.

This event is organised by Digital Natives Academy.
