Vacancies - Te Tai Tokerau, Te Puni Kōkiri

Te Puni Kōkiri is seeking to fill three fixed term roles in our Te Tai Tokerau Regional Office.  They are:

  • Regional Advisor Kainga Ora
  • Business Analyst Housing
  • Regional Advisor Provincial Growth Fund

These positions are full-time fixed-term, to start immediately through to 30 June 2020.

Regional Advisor - Kainga Ora

The Advisor is responsible for assisting whānau, hapū, iwi, rōpu Māori and hapori Māori to develop and implement initiatives that enable whānau to live in safe, secure, affordable homes and achieve housing independence. As part of the regional housing team the Advisor will work with agencies and housing providers, actively facilitating regional engagement, communication and information flows to increase support for whānau to achieve their housing aspirations and lift overall wellbeing.  To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Experience in working with local iwi, hapū and whānau Maori.
  • Experience in using a whānau centred approach to service delivery
  • Ability to provide practical assistance and resources to whānau and Māori housing providers to improve housing outcomes for Māori
  • Understanding of central and local government processes in providing policy advice to local agencies, organisations and Māori communities.

Business Analyst - Housing

The Business Analyst is responsible for providing data, information and advice to support the delivery of quality housing advisory services and resources to whānau, hapū, iwi, rōpu Māori and hapori Māori in Te Tai Tokerau.  To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Demonstrated technical knowledge and expertise in information systems
  • Well-developed project management expertise
  • Well-developed communication skills, both oral and written
  • Demonstrated ability to work in and as a member of a team
  • A demonstrated commitment to the provision of quality services.

Regional Advisor - Provincial Growth Fund (PGF)

The Advisor will support the implementation of the regional office Provincial Growth Fund work programme.  Key skills and experience for the role include:

  • Passion for whānau, hapū, Iwi, hapori Māori success and prosperity
  • Excellent engagement and relationship management skills
  • Well-developed communication skills, both oral and written
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills
  • Experience in working proactively with other to achieve results

The successful three candidates will also demonstrate:

  • Comfort in working in a tikanga / kaupapa Māori environment, excellent communication skills including a conversational level of Te Reo Māori;
  • Understanding and knowledge about government and public sector processes including how and why government can work together with regional communities;
  • Worked with communities and government agencies;
  • Understanding of the relevance of the Treaty of Waitangi to the work being undertaken;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including a conversational level of te reo Maori
  • A clean and current driver’s license.
