Exciting innovations are occurring in the digital environment which have the potential to stimulate Māori language revitalisation efforts through broadcasting and other related media.

Two research projects were conducted in 2008 and 2009; one provided a snapshot of New Zealanders’ use of broadcasting and related media, and the other investigated more specifically the broadcasting and e-media content and devices preferred by young Māori now and in the future.

This publication highlights the key findings from both pieces of research and correlates the two Māori data sets from the research to provide more information about how Māori, in particular young Māori, are ultising broadcasting and e-media.
