A hui that aspires to put a roof over our heads and a floor under our feet surrounded by unbreachable walls just as our ancient iterations prescribed.
30 April - 1 May 2020 Clubs Hastings Hastings, Aotearoa New Zealand Theme: 'Providing shelter and a foundation for whānau'
Kia piki te kaha! Kia piki te ora! Kia piki te wairua!
This is a biennial event and is held throughout the regions. The conference provides an opportunity for regions to showcase their leadership and contribution to housing initiatives and developments. Furthermore, it provides a platform for Māori and stakeholders to share ideas, information, network and to formulate strategies to assist Māori into quality, affordable housing. The theme of providing shelter and a foundation for whānau was developed by Ngahiwi Tomoana, chair of Ngāti Kahungunu Iwi Incorporated. His concept encourages us to support, build and nurture communities that put people first. Quality, affordable housing is important for whānau. It not only fulfills a basic human need for shelter, but it also contributes to the overall wellbeing of the whānau.
