Just Action 2019, The Salvation Army’s social justice conference will be taking place next Tue 1 to Wed 2 Oct in Wellington
Started in 2005, Just Action has been a space to explore issues, debate options, and inspire solutions to our key social challenges. It has attracted prominent speakers such as Prof Tracey Macintosh and the late Governor-General Sir Paul Reeves. This year, the conference continues that tradition with a comprehensive series of speakers including Hon Poto Williams, Minister for the Community Sector; Justin Lester, Mayor of Wellington; and academics Prof Ngaire Kerse and Dr Simon Chapple. FREE evening events (open to all, no need to register) include a screening of the film, Celia, about the prison campaigner, Celia Lashlie, a policy forum on Citizenship in the 21st Century and a youth debate on environmentalism.
This event is organised by The Salvation Army Social Policy & Parliamentary Unit.
