Consultation on a proposal to alter the name of a section of North Island Main Trunk railway line between Taumarunui and Te Awamutu to Te Ara-o-Tūrongo is open for three months from 26 July 2018 to 26 October 2018. The balance of the railway line either side of this proposal would remain named North Island Main Trunk.
