On 13 August 2010 the Crown endorsed a Mandate Strategy prepared and submitted by the Rangitāne Settlement Negotiations Trust (“the Trust”) for the Trust to be the mandated body to negotiate the settlement of the Rangitāne o Tamaki Nui-ā-Rua and Rangitāne o Wairarapa historical Treaty claims.

As part of the Mandate Strategy, the Trust agreed to provide all interested parties with certain information outlined in the Trust’s Mandate Strategy in order to address overlapping claim issues early in the process.
