Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993 Review Panel Discussion Document

The Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993 Review Panel developed proposals to improve the likelihood of utilisation of Māori land. These were based on the core principles of owner engagement and empowerment, accountability, fit for purpose, and best practise. The Panel considered these principles should underpin the legislation that governs Māori land. The proposals also sought to address and remove barriers to the utilisation of Māori land.
