The Ministry of Women’s Affairs, in collaboration with Te Puni Kōkiri, recognised seven Mana Wahine in Tāmaki Makaurau for their governance and leadership work/skills in the community, local, public and private sector areas on 17 May.
Those nominated were Ngawini Puru, Rereokeroa Shaw, Dame Georgina Kirby, Mere Karaka Knight, Rangi Davis, Kristen Kohere-Soutar and Naida Glavish.
The function included a presentation and indigenous luncheon prepared by chef Charles Royal, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended. Memorable moments were shared by their whānau support who acknowledged the huge work the women were actively involved in and continue to do tirelessly.
