The Chief Executive is seeking to appoint a Deputy Secretary to report to him and work as part of his executive leadership team in taking overall responsibility for the success of the Ministry and specifically to lead the Whanau and Social Policy Wahanga. This Wahanga is newly created and the Deputy Secretary will have responsibility for developing and building its capacity to full operational strength.
The key role of the Wahanga is to develop, implement and build Whanau ora to its ideal state, where whanau are self-managing, living healthy lifestyles, participating fully in Te Ao Maori, economically secure, actively and successfully involved in wealth creation, and cohesive, resilient and nurturing.
This role is one of four Deputy Secretary positions which share with the Chief Executive, responsibility for providing strong and visionary strategic leadership to the organisation aimed at bringing about the delivery of outcomes and to enhance the Ministry’s reputation with Maori, public sector and Government.
For this senior role, breadth and depth of experience is required as well as a demonstrable commitment to our values and our kaupapa.
