This report summarises the results of the Survey of Attitudes, Values and Beliefs about the Māori Language commissioned by Te Puni Kōkiri in 2003. It does not summarise all the data obtained from the survey but, instead, highlights findings that will be of particular value to those involved in Māori language policy, planning and development. A complete set of survey results is attached in part 2 and 3.
