E ngā iwi, e ngā mātāwaka, e rau rangatira mā, tēnā koutou, tēnā tātou katoa. Nau mai, whakatau mai ki te paetukutuku hou a Te Puni Kōkiri. It is a real pleasure to welcome you to our new look website. Like all government agencies, Te Puni Kōkiri is constantly trying to present our stakeholders with clear and consistent messages about who we are, why we exist, and what we do. As the state agency solely focused on Māori, we are in a unique position to initiate and influence policies that make a real difference to the social, cultural and economic well being of Māori. To these ends, just over two years ago we changed our visual identity to better reflect our mission and purpose and to help people better understand what we are all about. This repositioning was driven by many of the values that underpin our organisation including:
Te Puni Kōkiri means ‘a group moving forward together’. As an organisation we seek opportunities for Māori to change their life circumstances, improve their life choices and achieve a better quality of life – what Te Puni Kōkiri encapsulated in its strategic objective of “Māori succeeding as Māori”. Ultimately, we strive to support and influence the full realisation of Māori potential in every sector. Our website has been updated to reflect our new visual identity and to improve your ability to find out more quickly about what we do.
