Treaty Settlement Secondment Programme

Wednesday, 30 September 2009

The Treaty Settlement Secondment Programme is a pilot programme commencing in late 2009 for secondment of public servants to work with iwi with the aim of assisting in the historic settlement process and thereby contribute to the Government aim of settling all historic Treaty claims by 2014.

Te Puni Kōkiri is the administering agency and is working to identify up to 10 secondments in the pilot year.  Stage one is commencing late September and will see up to 10 claimant groups identified for secondments.  Claimant groups seeking more information should contract their local Te Puni Kōkiri regional office.

Stage two will be the recruitment of suitably skilled public servants into the identified secondment opportunities.  This is expected to commence in late October.  Public servants or ministries seeking more information should read the attached information sheets or email vacancy@tpk.govt.nz and quote ‘Treaty Settlement Secondments’ in the subject header.
