Wairoa nominations sought for Whānau Ora regional group

The Tairāwhiti Regional Leadership Group (RLG) for Whānau Ora is calling for nominations from the Wairoa community.

Twenty-five provider collectives involving more than 150 health and social service providers from throughout the country are beginning work to develop and deliver Whānau Ora – an inclusive approach to providing services and opportunities to all New Zealand families in need.

RLGs provide regional strategic leadership to ensure whānau-centred initiatives contribute in positive and realistic ways to local communities.

Membership includes between three and seven community representatives who come from diverse backgrounds and have expertise and skills in health and social services as well as whānau and community development.

Tairāwhiti RLG members include Lois McCarthy-Robinson (chair); Owen Lloyd; Manu Caddie; Te Pare Meihana and Dr Apirana Mahuika.

The successful candidate for Wairoa will have a primary interest in promoting the wellbeing of whānau within the Wairoa region.
