Measuring performance and effectiveness for Māori: Key themes from the literature

This report highlights the key themes of the literature on measuring and reporting on the performance of government services in relation to Māori (or other indigenous people). It provides illustrative examples particularly in relation to employment services, but will be of interest to practitioners involved in measuring and reporting on the performance of any government services that are provided to Māori and is intended to be widely applicable across the government sector.

Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993 Review Panel Discussion Document

The Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993 Review Panel has developed some proposals to improve the likelihood of utilisation of Māori land. These are based on the core principles of owner engagement and empowerment, accountability, fit for purpose, and best practise. The Panel considers these principles should underpin the legislation that governs Māori land. The proposals also seek to address and remove barriers to the utilisation of Māori land.
