Te Puni Kōkiri recently supported the Tāmaki Makaurau Regional Kapa Haka Competition, which saw four of the region’s best roopū qualify for the national competition to be held in Mt Maunganui next year.

Telstra Pacific Stadium hosted the competition, which saw Te Waka Huia take top honours, Ngā Tumanako second place, Te Roopū Manutaki third and Te Manu Huia fourth. About 3,000 people supported the 13 senior groups battling for the four qualifying spots to the nationals.
