Linking Northland’s remote Ngātiwai coastal communities using communication technologies is the goal of Ngātiwai Trust Board.
An Information and Communications Strategy has been developed to connect the Ngātiwai communities and build their confidence in the use of Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
Supported by Te Puni Kōkiri, ASB Community Trust and the Government’s “Community Partnership Fund”, the project provides communications tools for Ngātiwai communities to support social, cultural and economic development. As a result the trust has established three learning centres at Matapōuri Marae, Takahiwai Marae and Ngātiwai Marae.
