The Collective and Tribal Assets work stream is focussed on developing Crown-Iwi co-investment models for infrastructure and utility assets.
Iwi take their responsibilities as long-term stewards of this country seriously and are well positioned as long-term investors in these assets. It is also desirable from both an economic development and social perspective for Iwi to take ownership and equity stakes in utility and infrastructure assets.

To enable the success of a co-investment concept a wide range of tools and information resources have been prepared. The Hon Dr Pita Sharples, in a speech to the Iwi Leaders Group on 7 May 2010, launched Iwi Infrastructure and Investment - a set of resource materials for iwi.
The resource provides an overview of strategic issues relating to Māori and co-investment in infrastructure. It also includes four guides to help iwi in taking the next steps towards public and private partnerships:
