Support Services Wāhanga

Support Services provides a culture of support for all groups within Te Puni Kōkiri to ensure that excellent standards are achieved and maintained across the organisation in line with State Sector guidelines. The Support Services Wahanga includes:

Office of the Deputy Secretary

Provides an integrated Support Services’ contribution to Te Puni Kōkiri’s work programme with reference to key internal and external strategies.

Communications

Provides services to the Minister and Chief Executive; production of Kōkiri, E-Kōkiri, internal newsletter and other publications; organising events and media campaigns.

Finance

The Finance team ensures the integrity of Te Puni Kōkiri’s financial operations. They prepare advice to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), the Minister and Treasury on financial matters, meet external financial reporting requirements, process all financial transactions and manage property, facilities and centralised procurement. The Procurement team within Finance are also responsible for ensuring that contracts meet the required State Sector Standards.

Human Resources

Supports Te Puni Kōkiri’s capability by providing advice and services for Recruitment; Employee Relations; Performance Management; Payroll and Leave Management; and Organisational Development.

Information Services

Develops and maintains Te Puni Kōkiri’s communication capability by improving databases; intranet and records management services; and providing the first point of contact with the public, including reception and internet sites.

Legal Services

Proactively and reactively provide the highest quality legal advice to service policy, legal and programme initiatives; ensure legislative and legal compliance; prepare, draft and clear legal documents.

Ministerials

The Ministerials team is responsible for managing the facilitation of information between Te Puni Kōkiri and the Office of the Minister of Māori Affairs.

Organisational Performance

Contributes to the delivery of outcomes to enhance TPK’s reputation with Māori, the Public Sector and Government by building capacity in the area of organizational performance, particularly evaluations, Crown Entity Monitoring and organisational planning.
