Te Puni Kōkiri has a selection and appointment procedure to ensure all applicants are treated fairly and the applicant best suited to the position is selected. The selection is based on assessing each applicant’s depth and breadth of competency against the requirements of the job as defined in the job description.
The selection and appointment process comprises the following:
For each vacancy there is a job ad, job description and application form.
You need to submit an application form, an up to date CV and certified copies of any required academic qualifications. (See more information on completing the application form). Please send these to the contact details listed on the Job Advertisement by the closing date. If sending information by e-mail please quote the Vacancy number in the subject line (eg “Vacancy 08/06)
Based on the documentation you provide us, we will make a short list of applicants for the vacancy. You will be advised whether you have been short listed or not.
If you are successful in being short listed you will be advised what further assessments you will be required to complete. These may include:
If you are attending an interview, you are welcome to bring whānau or support people with you. If you intend doing so please advise this when you are contacted for the interview.
You will be contacted and advised of the outcome of the selection process. If you are the successful candidate an offer of employment will be made.
Te Puni Kōkiri staff have access to a review of appointment procedure once the appointment is notified. If no review is raised the appointment will be confirmed after 10 working days.
